Honoring the past. Supporting the present. Investing in the future.
Reunion Planning Committee Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to preserving the rich heritage of Historic Carver Village while investing in sustainable, long-term community development. What began as a powerful grassroots reunion movement has grown into a mission-driven effort to build leadership, support families, uplift youth, and strengthen neighborhood well-being.
With the launch of the Carver Village Legacy Fund, we are transitioning from annual event planning to strategic community investment—ensuring that the values, stories, and culture that shaped Carver Village continue to thrive for generations.
The Historic Carver Village neighborhood, established in the 1940s, stands as a vibrant testament to resilience, culture, and community pride. Originally created to house Black veterans returning from World War II, it grew into a beacon of opportunity and unity in Savannah.
The Carver Village reunion tradition began in 2016 as a grassroots response to residents’ desire for reconnection and community unity. Over the next decade, the event evolved into a powerful celebration honoring the neighborhood's history and cultural contributions.
This proud history now serves as the foundation for the organization’s next chapter—strengthening the future through long-term community investment.
Launching soon, contingent upon funding.
